In one of our raised garden beds, we installed the Subpod Classic Worm Bin for vermicomposting https://collabs.shop/jnasni, and this is our second season with it. I continue to learn how to make the most of it.
Here’s the shredder we’re using to recycle cardboard: https://amzn.to/47LijQz
The shredded cardboard is used to add carbon, balance moisture, and now even make a bit of a worm bin blanket with the cardboard.

Shout out to @MemesWorms for the recommendation on this specific shredder. It’s fast and doesn’t choke on the thickness of the cardboard.
It’s come to my attention that some folks have asked if the Chewy Boxes are compostable – and I’ve never worried about those because they are not shiny. Feel free to do your own homework on that. Next time I have a full Chewy Box, I’ll take some photos of the box to see if I can find information on the inks.

About Michelle In The Meadow:
I’m growing on a 1/4 acre suburban lot. I started gardening here 4 years ago and am glad you are here.
We have more than 80 individual fruit trees and shrubs and more than a dozen different kinds of annuals growing on this property. The slopes make for some interesting ways to garden, but we’re trying to make the best of it.
On the first Sunday evening of each month (7PM Eastern), I go live on YouTube sharing updates and answering your questions.
If you enjoyed this video, please give it a thumbs up and consider subscribing to follow along on all the happenings in my Northeast Florida Zone 9A Garden. Until next time, my friends, remember to drink plenty of water, wear high-quality sunscreen and have a fantastic day.
