About Michelle in the Meadow
I am a suburban gardener located in zone 9A in Northeast Florida. I started growing in this suburban lot in 2019 and have expanded the garden yearly. In 2020 I started making Facebook Videos about the garden, and in 2022 created this YouTube channel. I enjoy making content about my garden, what I’m growing and learning, and from time to time, the general vlog, too.

About our Growing Season & Gardens
We have 300+ days between frost dates and can pretty much garden year-round. We are currently growing in many raised garden beds of various sizes. We grow along both sides of the house, in grow bags, in the ground, in Greenstalk vertical planters, and in pots on the patio.

    Hi Michelle!

I love watching your raised bed garden videos. I live in Marion County Florida.

I wish I purchased the Birdie raised bed garden. I purchased, installed and planted the 4 x 8 x 32” tall raised bed by Vego in February. Loved the ability to pluck out the weeds standing up.

Unfortunately after my harvest & cleaning up the bed in June I discovered several large rust holes at the bottom, mostly on the rounded corners with mounds of dirt spilling out. And unfortunately there was quite a lot of rust rust all along the bottom edges as well.

I called Vego and they asked me to send pictures which I did. They were quite upset that such a thing could happen, claimed they never saw that before and immediately shipped me a brand new unit at their expense. I was grateful for that.

I have since watched other Birdie videos and wished I had chosen the Birdie bed instead. I will in the future.

I’m not sure the China version is clearly the quality that Vego marketed and hope this experience of mine is not what others experience.

I’m not one to shine a negative limelight and yet I believe others should be aware of what they are dealing with.

I had several other more minor problems with getting the cover and the irrigation system called a “mister” (which I LOVE ????) but again Vego was very cooperative and took care of sending me replacement parts right away.

I took videos and pictures and could share them with you privately for your own information if you would like.

Here’s to future successful raised bed gardening experiences!!

    Bless you !

I am glad that Vego stepped up to take care of the problem. I will be digging mine out in the next few weeks. It will be interesting to see what I find down below. Please do keep an eye out for the video, if you’d like to follow along. THANK YOU for the Good Wishes and Blessings!
